Montage of the Original Garden
Our initial garden performed incredibly well. It was inspiring to say the least. We made a TV show about how we built this garden, you can see episode 10 of The Common Chef here. These are a series of images over the course of 2 years.

Really cool! What kind of climate are you in? Do you have to deal with freezing temps? Im new at this but starting to research growing my own crawfish and shrimp.
It does get cold in Central Florida. And it has been a concern since we’ve started aquaponics. But this year, we completely solved the problem by putting a tankless hot water heater running off of the reservoir water. It uses Propane. Completely solved the cool water problem. In an extremely cold climate, it may not be energy efficient. But where we live, I go through about 7 to 10 gallons of propane a week for a total of approximately 6 weeks a year. Totally worth it.
